Ron Crafton is a Frederick native and an accountant with ENVOCORE, and a tax preparer for Liberty Tax Services. He is a recent graduate of Frederick Community College and Mount Saint Mary’s University, where he got his associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree in accounting, respectively. “Most of the work I do is accounting, but I also work with taxes too, particularly with sales and use tax and personal income taxes. I got into the tax side of accounting due to the realization that it’s a skill that most people appreciate,” he says.
Extracurriculars
In his free time, Ron enjoys hanging out and relaxing with friends. He’s an avid gamer, he plays both video games and board games. He also likes to clear his mind by taking walks in nature.

Q&A with Ron Crafton
What inspires you and keeps you going?
I would say family and friends are a huge motivation, but every day is a new challenge to understand life. One that must be appreciated.
Which of the guiding values defined by Cowork Frederick members speaks to you?
I value authenticity the most. I have noticed nowadays that most people like to use an online persona to appear like a good person but, in reality, are far from it. With everything too political now and being judged for having the wrong beliefs, I think we need a chance to get to understand one another again rather than make assumptions.
Any tax tips for self-employed or contractors?
If you are a sub-contractor or self-employed, please make sure you have a separate bank or business account for all of your transactions. If you don’t, it will become harder over time to remember what purchases you made for yourself. When tax season comes around, you’ll have difficulty remembering which transactions were personal and which were for your business.
Why Cowork Frederick?
I chose the Frederick Cowork as it was in a nice downtime location, and it gives me great comfort to work away from home without a terrible commute.
