Frederick Artists Night (FAN), an event that goes hand-in-hand with the Artist of the Month Program run by the Cowork Frederick Foundation, is one of our favorite monthly events.
Every First Saturday, we clear the tables and chairs from our big “Community Room” on the first floor and celebrate local creativity. FAN includes an art exhibit by a local (Frederick County) artist, music from a local singer-songwriter/musician, and may also include poetry readings, or talks about artistry. Why? Because local art matters.
Join us any time from 3:00 to 7:00 pm any First Saturday. See some great art by an up and coming local Frederick County artists (and meet the artist). Listen to music performed live by a local singer-songwriter. Take in a poetry reading or join in a spoken word open mic. It’s a great night of Frederick artistry of all kinds. Check our upcoming events to see who our next artist will be.
FAN takes place in Cowork Frederick’s “Community Room”. The room has a gallery-style hanging system and gallery lighting that spans the roughly 30 feet wide art wall, so it can hold a lot of art. During the event, art is for sale and the artist will be here the entire time to tell you about his/her work. Many artists welcome commissioned work, so if you like the artist’s style and want something specific, feel free to ask.
Live acoustic music from local (Frederick County) musicians is played, usually from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Musicians set up outside, weather permitting, on the sidewalk in front of our building.
