Much of Maryland, including Frederick, is now in stage two of Governor Hogan’s recovery plan. As such, we’ve been getting questions about how that works for us. We’ve answered the most common ones below.
Note that our guidance for members is different than for visitors/guests. There are stricter requirements for visitors – including attendees of meetings. Those measures are largely linked to contact tracing and familiarity. We know who our members are, see them on a fairly regular basis, and how to reach them if we need to. Our members also know how to reach us to report an illness if they need to. The same is not true of non-members. The stricter requirements are meant to protect visitors as well as our coworking community.
Is Cowork Frederick open?
Yes. We’re officially open at 50% capacity, which means we are limited to 18 people (not counting those in meetings) in the building at any given time.
How are you making sure the 50% capacity isn’t exceeded?
In the past two months we’ve had, at most, 6 people in the building. If we start getting close to 18 and the 50% limit is still in place, we’ll provide a way to schedule times to come in to work.
What other measures are currently in place for COVID-19?
We are cleaning surfaces daily. We have placed hand sanitizer by the front door and ask that everyone use it as they enter the building. There are sanitizing wipes placed throughout the building. Everyone is asked to wipe down any shared work area they use (including phone booths and printers) when they are done using it. People working in shared spaces must sit 6 feet apart (exception: family or team members who are in regular contact with each other can sit together). We now have hands-free soap dispensers in our restrooms. And, we’ve added a HEPA air purifier to our conference room, where higher concentrations of people may gather.
Do I have to wear a mask?
Members coming in to do their regular work at a desk do not have to wear a mask. That said, if you wouldn’t normally wear a mask and notice people around you are wearing a mask, please do the considerate thing and put a mask on. Any non-member coming in for a tour, day pass, or meeting must wear a mask. We have extra masks if anyone needs one.
Can I hold meetings?
Yes (and the 10-person limit has been lifted). People attending the meeting (including any Cowork Frederick members) should wear a mask and sanitize hands upon entering the building and should head straight to the meeting room. While in the meeting room the mask can be removed, but it must be put back on anytime you leave the meeting room. People here to attend a meeting should stay in the meeting room except when entering or exiting the building or using the restroom. There is a restroom right next to the conference room.
Can I get my mail?
Yes. We have remained open to accept mail for those you have signed up for our mail service. If you are a coworking member or are using our mail & meetings virtual office service, you have an access fob for the door and can come get your mail just like before.
I’m a member. Can I bring a guest?
Yes. Members can bring guests in to cowork with them using our usual guest pass procedure. Until further notice, all guests should wear a mask. As with meeting attendees, this is for their protection as well as ours. Guests have a different level of risk than those who we see regularly and know how to reach. Like everyone, guests must also sit at least 6 feet away from others.
Can I take a tour?
Yes. We are giving tours. Please schedule your tour here and make note of the following: You must wear a mask while inside our building. You will also be asked to sanitize your hands when you come in the door.
I’m thinking about joining. Can I do a test drive?
Yes. Please schedule a Day Pass or come to one of our free Open Coworking events (resuming in August). Sign up for either one here.
Will I be notified if someone at Cowork Frederick tests positive for COVID-19?
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 and who has been in the building in the 14 days prior to that should notify us immediately. We will, in turn, notify all Cowork Frederick members. We will also notify anyone who has reserved a meeting room in the prior 14 days. We do not have records of those who attend meetings, so it will be up to the person who reserved the room to notify their attendees.
