2013 was a big year for us. We celebrated our 1st anniversary with a big birthday bash that generated a donation to Heartly House.
30 people signed up as new members of Cowork Frederick. Some members moved on to new jobs or locations or “graduated” to their own offices. At our high-point, we had 37 members.
Our Artist of the Month became increasingly popular to artists and art lovers alike. Twelve more artists took advantage of our offer of space for an exhbit and reception on a First Saturday.
Cowork Frederick donated over $500 to local charities and non-profit organizations. We continued our commitment to buying local, recycling, and generally being good stewards of all we have.
41 events took place inside our walls, including book signings, candidacy announcements, happy hours, lunch & learns, networking events, accountability meetings, and more. Groups such as AIGA, AAF, Social Media Club, Tech Frederick, the Frederick Startup Community, Frederick Web Tech Group, and – you guessed – yes – even more. It’s been a very big year!Over 615 people attended those events.
Cowork Frederick members had a pretty year too. Sandy Sponaugle was named the 2013 Public Relations Professional of the Year. Brandon Mason’s company, Mason Livesay Scientific, was awarded a patent and hired a COO to support the growth that company has seen. Mason Livesay Scientific also received a Certificate of Appreciation from Frederick County, as did Cowork Frederick. Cowork Frederick also received an award for innovation in recycling and being one of the greenest companies in Frederick. Heather Stang received an offer to publish a book titled “Mindfulness & Grief“. It’s now for sale. Jim Robinson’s company, Clickseed, has grown enough that he will soon have his own office with room for a few employees. We could go on, but we’d never stop. Our members have been doing some pretty great stuff.
