I was just working on a welcome post for the Business Factory of Frederick when I realized, other than posting the article from the Frederick News-Post, we were so busy working on our website and posting information about all our members, we hadn’t posted anything about our own grand opening! Shame! Oops! And, all manner of such things! So, here’s one to make up for that.
Thanks to the Frederick Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Frederick Partnership, and our “founding” members who signed up even before our doors were officially open, and more, our Grand Opening was a huge success! Present were Aldermen Michael O’Connor and Carol Krimm, Mayor McClement, Representative Blaine R. (Ron) Young , Ric Adams and Jean Wright from the Chamber, Kara Norman from the Downtown Frederick Partnership, and no less than 9 members! It was great to see Cowork Frederick filled with people. Member Jessica Hibbard, shown here working, took some great pictures which I have gladly used for this post!
After the “party”, folks quickly got down to doing what coworkers do – working and sharing ideas. When we opened, we only had the first floor available for use. Since then, we finished remodeling the building, opened the second floor conference rooms, phone rooms, and space for dedicated desks. Many other members have joined and we’ve had many great events and have all learned and grown so much. Just check out our other news posts. Our Artist of the Month program has brought so much great art to the gallery wall in our Community Room and we’ve met so many great people through the related First Saturday events. It’s really been a great 4 months and we look forward to those to come.
Thank you to all the artists, local businesses who have welcomed and supported us, businesses who have held events in our space. Most of all, thank you to all our members and what you contribute to Cowork Frederick!
