Our New Conference Room

One of my favorite parts of our expansion is designing and decorating our work spaces. Just a few weeks ago, what we simply called the “Front Room” in our 122 E Patrick building was repurposed to be our new conference room.

Our conference room has seating for up to 10 and is available from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.

We’ve known for sometime that this change was in store, so, always on the lookout to reuse things to reduce our carbon footprint, we purchased a large table and chairs from an architecture firm who was going through their own office space renovations about a year ago and stored them in our basement. There they sat, waiting for new life.

That new life came in early July when my partner in business and life, Glen Ferguson, and I hauled them up, dusted them off and set them. An accent wall was painted, decorations hung, a digital white board installed, and the new conference room declared ready for use.

What’s so great about this conference room?

So, aside from my love of repurposing and redecorating, why all the excitement about our new conference room?

  1. It’s on the first floor.
    People meeting in our previous conference room had to climb a flight of stairs. Now the conference room is just steps away from the front door. So much more convenient.
  2. View of Downtown Frederick.
    Since it’s also at the front of the building, our new conference retains the great view of historic Patrick St that our previous conference room had.
  3. Digital white board.
    Samsung Flip digital white board that also serves as a large screen for viewing a presenter’s computer screen or video. (Zoom call anyone?)
  4. Flip chart easel.
    For when you’d rather brainstorm on paper and post it around the room.
  5. Speaker phones.
    Two speakers, not just one. With so many doing hybrid calls, with some people in the room and some not, professional grade speaker phones are a must.
  6. Community + Conference room combo.
    Having our new conference room right next to our larger “Community Room” event space means we can now offer the option of reserving both for larger events. Use the conference room as a reception area, breakout space, work room, etc. while holding your main event in the larger room.

Our conference room is available from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.
