We’re bringing back lunch & learns, something we did in our second year that was very popular, with a few changes (based on your input) that will make the them even better. Whereas past lunch & learns were open to the public (for a fee), the upcoming lunch & learns will be all about members teaching members (available to members only). We also used to provide lunch (again, for a fee). In the future lunch & learns will be “brown bag” (bring your own lunch) events.
Giving a talk is completely voluntary, but we’re hoping every member will take a turn.
Any topic is OK, provided it’s consistent with our playground rules. One week we might learn about the latest thing in social media or just how Amazon Web Services stores all that data and serves it up so quickly. The next we might hear lessons a member learned from attempting to crowdfund or we might learn how to do origami.
Know something you can teach others? Bet you do! To sign up, contact Julia.
We’ll meet in the Conference Room. Prepare a presentation, whiteboard your concepts, bring props, or just talk. It’s all really up to you. Plan to talk 30 to 45 minutes, leaving time for discussion.
We’ll start out doing lunch & learns the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, from noon to 1 pm, and will see how that works. If we need to change the day of the week or the frequency, we’ll do that.
