If you’ve read our website, you know our Story of the Space. Glen retold relevant parts of this story such as how the concrete removed when we replaced the sidewalk was recycled, when filling out an application for the 2012 Waste Reduction and Recycling Award. He also noted our passion for recycling all that we can, using real dishes over disposable, using recycled materials, such as Who Gives a Crap toilet paper, our low-use, dual flush toilets, and more. His efforts, our efforts in how we remodeled the space and your efforts in ongoing recycling and waste reduction, paid off. November 5th, we received this from the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management:
Congratulations!
Your business has been selected as a recipient of Frederick County’s 2012 Waste Reduction and Recycling Award. We commend for your commitment to conserving resources and would like to extend our appreciation in a public format.
The Board of County Commissioners will be formally announcing the winners of this year’s award at their November 15th work session, which also happens to be America Recycles Day, a national recognition event. The meeting will take place at Winchester Hall, sometime between 9:00-11:30am (the agenda has not yet been set).
This year’s award winners will also be honored in a large advertisement placed in the Frederick News Post on America Recycles Day, as well as promoted via a press release from our department, so you may wish to watch for media mentions of your business.
… thank you for demonstrating leadership in your efforts to recycle more and waste less.
Sincerely,
Lori Finafrock Recycling Program Manager Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management 9031 Reichs Ford Road Frederick MD 21704 301-600-7403 (w) 301-600-3044 (fax) LFinafrock@FrederickCountyMD.
