The consensus among Cowork Frederick members who made the trek out to Dublin Roasters Coffee was that our first event was informative, fun, and tasty! We began with sampling cups of coffee from the wide selection put out for customers ($2 with free refills – not bad!). Then Serina, owner of Dublin Roasters Coffee, took us back to where she roasts coffee and shared the story of her business and taught us a bit about coffee roasting. There were many questions and she willingly answered them all. My favorite part was getting to know another person out there who had a hobby that turned into a business that she has grown over time. She’s successful, doing what she loves, and has just the business model she wants that is consistent with her values. She deals with small farmers around the world in “fair trade” fashion and supports local artists and organizations.
For those who wished they could make it and didn’t, the good news the “coffee configuration” will continue. We brought three kinds of coffee back with us and will be brewing them and getting feedback from members. Based on that feedback, we’ll get a few more blends and, a few months from now, we will have created our Cowork Frederick blend. So, members, bring your taste buds with you when you come to cowork and be ready to let us know what you like and don’t like about what’s been brewed that day.
