We gave charging for guest access to wifi a try and didn’t like it, so we’re going back to allowing one hour of free access to non-members. With that change, we required a password for the guest network again. The password for the guest network is “sharing2017”.
This does not impact your access as a member. Members continue to have access to the Cowork Frederick member network. No change there.
After one hour, those on the guest network lose access and have the option of purchasing either a Day Pass or, if they are your guest, a Guest Pass. There is no longer an option to pay for a few hours of wifi. The only people who used the “2 hours for $4” option we added last November were those who should have purchased a Day or Guest Pass, so we’ve removed it. While we’re on the the topic, it’s worth noting that Day Passes and Guest Passes are not (and never were) about wifi access. They are about taking up a seat in the building.
For non-members who have reserved a meeting room, a voucher is given to one person (the presumed presenter) for wifi access for the duration of the meeting. Others attending the meeting will have the one hour of free wifi access available to anyone. Exception: all-day rentals come with wifi access for all attendees.
